The Banner Engineering SM312LVAGQD Mini-Beam polarized retroreflective sensor detects targets from 50 mm to 2,000 mm with a 650 nm visible red beam and a rugged rectangular thermoplastic housing compatible with M18 mounting. It operates on 10–30 V DC and provides bipolar outputs (one NPN and one PNP) via a 4-pin M12 integral quick disconnect, with light/dark operate and a 1 ms output response time. The unit carries IP67 (NEMA 4X) sealing and withstands -20 to 70°C, with a 100 ms power-up delay and 300 µs repeatability, making it suitable for unreliable or high-speed environments. The sensing beam is supported by an acrylic lens and a potentiometer for adjustment; the device uses a polarized retroreflective sensing mode to maintain stable performance even with reflective targets.
