Banner Engineering SM312W Photoelectric Sensor

The SM312W is Banner Engineering’s Mini-Beam Series divergent-diffuse photoelectric sensor, a compact self-contained DC-powered device built for short-range object detection in tight spaces. It senses with a 130 mm (about 5.1 in) divergent diffuse beam and operates from 10–30 V DC, offering bipolar switching via 1 NPN and 1 PNP outputs. The module comes with a 2 m (6.5 ft) cable and uses an infrared LED as the sensing beam. Its rugged housing carries IP67 protection and a NEMA 4X rating for use in harsh environments. The SM312W is a DC Voltage Series sensor with a 4-pin wiring configuration, designed for straightforward integration into existing control schemes. This combination of short-range sensing, dual-output compatibility, and rugged enclosure makes it suitable for compact proximity sensing tasks where space is constrained.
