Banner Engineering SM31EL Photoelectric Sensor

The Banner Engineering SM31EL Mini-Beam is the long-range opposed-emitter half of Banner’s DC Voltage Mini-Beam photoelectric pair. With an infrared emission at 880 nm, it sends a beam to a compatible receiver (for example SM31R or SM31RL) across up to 30 meters to detect beam interruption in through-beam configurations. Operated from a 10 to 30 V DC supply, the emitter is commonly delivered with a 2-meter pre-wired cable, while longer cable variants are available for installations that require additional reach. As part of the Mini-Beam DC Voltage Series, the SM31EL’s compact form factor and rugged construction suit industrial environments such as packaging lines, conveyors, and automated systems where reliable, non-contact detection is essential. Proper alignment with its receiver is key to consistent sensing, and this emitter is designed to pair specifically with Banner receivers to form a complete sensing solution.
