Banner Engineering SM31R Photoelectric Mini Beam Sensor

The SM31R is Banner Engineering’s Mini-Beam through-beam photoelectric sensor receiver, part of the DC Voltage Series, designed to pair with the SM31E emitter for reliable detection of small parts at a defined 3 m (10 ft) range. Powered from 10–30 V DC, the receiver provides bipolar outputs (1 NPN and 1 PNP), with a 2 m (6.5 ft) pre-wired cable to connect directly to common PLC inputs and control modules, enabling straightforward integration without external adapters. In this opposed, through-beam configuration, the emitter delivers the infrared beam (around 880 nm) to the receiver, and any interruption in that beam signals the presence or absence of a target within the 3 m sensing zone. The SM31R is ideal for compact object detection on conveyors, packaging lines, and machinery where a small, robust through-beam receiver can provide decisive, contactless sensing signals.
