The Banner Engineering SM512C1 is a compact, metal-housed diffuse‑mode photoelectric sensor designed for reliable short‑range object detection. It uses a visible red light beam and provides complementary NPN transistor outputs (one normally open and one normally closed) with a fast 1 ms response for quick sensing cycles. Built for harsh industrial environments, the sensor features a die‑cast metal housing with fully gasketed lens assemblies and operates from −40 to +70 °C. It is powered from 10–30 V DC with reverse polarity protection, and a red LED indicator lights when the sensor is receiving a light signal to aid setup and troubleshooting.
