Banner Engineering SM912C Infrared Optical Sensor

The Banner Engineering SM912C is a VALU-BEAM infrared convergent photoelectric sensor in Banner’s SM912 family. It uses an infrared 880 nm emitter with a focused receiver to detect small targets at a nominal range of 38 mm (1.5 in). The standard version ships with a 2 m (6.5 ft) cable and operates from 10 to 30 V DC, delivering a bipolar NPN/PNP output for compatibility with common control hardware. A Quick Disconnect option, the SM912CQD, is available with a four-pin Mini Integral Quick Disconnect connector for field wiring. This infrared convergent configuration is described specifically for the SM912C (as opposed to the visible-red convergent variants such as SM912CV) and is designed for use in industrial environments where short-range sensing of small objects is required.
