Banner Engineering's SM912FQD VALU-BEAM fiber optic sensor uses a glass fiber optic interface to detect targets, powered by 10–30 V DC and delivering a bipolar output (one NPN and one PNP). It uses a 4-pin Mini Integral Quick Disconnect (QD) for fast wiring and is part of the VALU-BEAM 912 Series. Detection range is fiber-dependent and varies with the fiber optic configuration used; the sensor also features a watertight o-ring-sealed sensor/fiber interface for reliable operation in challenging environments. The SM912FQD supports opposed-mode and glass-fiber emitter-receiver configurations, making it suitable for compact sensing on automation and packaging lines.
