The SME312FQD is Banner Engineering’s MINI-BEAM Expert glass-fiber photoelectric amplifier, pairing infrared 880 nm glass-fiber optics with two discrete outputs (one NPN and one PNP) from a 10–30 VDC supply. It uses glass-fiber termination for remote sensing, with range that varies by fiber type and length. The unit features a 4-pin M12 integral quick-disconnect for straightforward wiring, and a rugged thermoplastic rectangular housing designed for industrial environments with a mounting option compatible with M18 hardware. Built for harsh settings, it carries IP67 protection (NEMA 4X) and operates across -20 to 70°C, making it suitable for cold and hot production-floor conditions. TEACH-mode programming enables quick, remote sensitivity adjustments, while the device delivers fast switching with a typical response time around 0.5 ms and a repeatability of 100 µs.
