The SME312LPCQD Mini-Beam Expert polarized retroreflective photoelectric sensor from Banner Engineering delivers 1 m of reliable detection and comes with a 5-pin M12 integral quick-disconnect for easy wiring. It operates on 10–30 V DC and provides bipolar outputs (one NPN and one PNP) for versatile interfacing, with remote teach capability and a dedicated teach button for on-site setup. Built for harsh environments, it features an IP67-rated thermoplastic housing with an 18 mm barrel and an acrylic lens, an operating temperature range of -20 to 70 °C, and a fast 0.5 ms response time, plus a 1 s power-up delay. The device uses polarized retroreflective sensing with a visible red 650 nm beam and supports both light and dark operate modes, making it suitable for applications such as conveyor presence detection, packaging lines, and clear-object detection on reflective targets.
