The Banner Engineering STBVP6Q Self-Checking Optical Touch Button is a hands-free, touch-activated switch in the STB Series designed for safety-critical control, using continuous internal self-checking optical sensing and requiring no physical pressure to operate. It runs from 10–30 V DC, housed in black polyetherimide with a yellow field cover, and features a MINI-style integral quick-disconnect for wiring. The device delivers a complementary PNP output, incorporates LED indicators for power, output, and fault, and is rated IP66 with NEMA compatibility for 1, 3, 4, 4X, 12, and 13 environments. Pre-installed field covers help prevent inadvertent activation, and its self-checking operation is supported by diverse-redundant microcontroller-based sensing, with IEC 61508 Type B safety considerations when used in two-hand control configurations.
