Banner Engineering STBVR81Q Self-Checking Optical Touch Button
Description:
The Banner Engineering STBVR81Q Self-Checking Optical Touch Button is a STB Series safety input that uses continuous self-checking, single-point optical sensing to initiate machine control without any physical actuation. It operates from 20-30 V AC/DC and uses a 5-pin Mini Quick Disconnect for field wiring, delivering two independent, complementary relay outputs for normally open and normally closed configurations. The rugged thermoplastic polyetherimide housing features an M30 x 1.5 mounting thread, IP66 ingress protection, and a base mount saddle installation profile, making it well suited for harsh industrial environments. Its compact footprint measures 68.0 mm long, 51.0 mm wide, and 115.0 mm high, and it includes pre-installed field covers to prevent inadvertent activation while allowing service access. LED indicators provide visibility of power, output, and fault status to assist diagnostics. The STBVR81Q variant is specified with a yellow field cover, highlighting the self-checking touch button’s use in safety-critical applications where quick, contactless activation is advantageous. This device is designed for control-reliable machine initiation in automation and safety interlock scenarios, offering robust protection against contamination and electromagnetic interference while maintaining reliable actuation through optical sensing.
