Banner Engineering UWG18-6.4 Ultrasonic Sensor

UWG18-6.4 is Banner Engineering's 18 mm Wave Guide Accessory for Banner S18U and QS18U ultrasonic sensors, designed to focus the ultrasonic beam for precise detection of small openings and to help detect edges on sheet metal. It threads onto the 18 mm barrel of the sensor and features a 6.4 mm inside diameter (6.4 mm ID) and a 9.0 mm outside diameter (9.0 mm OD), with Acetal construction for durability, and it includes a slender threaded plastic nut. Installation involves threading the wave guide onto the sensor until snug with the sensor face in contact with the gasket, then tightening until the bevel faces downward to minimize debris ingress; for high-vibration applications, a small amount of thread-locking material is recommended. Common applications include probing the depth of small openings and locating edges on metal surfaces where a narrow, focused ultrasonic beam improves detection reliability.
