Description:

The Banner Engineering Q85VR3LP Photoelectric Sensor is a polarized retroreflective sensor in a rugged yellow Cycolac ABS housing that detects a reflected infrared beam in retroreflective mode over a range of 80 mm to 4.6 m (3"–15') when used with Banner’s BRT-3 3" reflector. It operates from 12–240 Vdc or 24–240 Vac and provides a single SPDT electromecanical relay output, rated for up to 3 A and up to 250 V ac (30 V dc), with a maximum resistive switching power of 90 W (750 VA). The unit features two top-mounted LEDs: a red AID indicator that lights when the output energizes and a yellow indicator that lights when the sensor detects its own modulated light, aiding alignment. Construction includes two conduit entrances for wiring (two 1/2-14 NPSM) and a mounting bracket, with protection rated to IEC IP67 and NEMA 1, 2, 3, 3S, 4, 4X, 6, 6P, 12, and 13. Operating temperature is -25°C to +55°C with up to 90% relative humidity at 50°C, and sensing uses an 880 nm infrared beam with a single-turn sensitivity adjustment beneath the wiring chamber cover for precise gain control. This polarized retro sensor is designed for applications like conveyors, packaging lines, and general machine automation where a compact, durable retroreflective sensing solution is required.
