Banner Engineering SM312D Photoelectric Sensor

The Banner SM312D Mini-Beam diffuse photoelectric sensor is a self-contained DC-operated detector with a 380 mm (about 15 in) sensing range and a 2 m (6.5 ft) pre-wired cable. It powers from 10–30 V dc and provides a bipolar output (one NPN and one PNP) for direct switching of two circuits. In diffuse mode, it uses an infrared LED around 880 nm and is housed in an IP67-rated enclosure (NEMA 4X) designed for rugged industrial environments. With four wires in the integrated cable, it supports straightforward wiring on compact automation layouts and is ideal for presence/absence detection on conveyors, packaging lines, or tooling. This SM312D model is part of Banner's MINI-BEAM family, offering a compact footprint and reliable short-range detection for precise object sensing.
