SM312DSC is Banner Engineering's Mini-Beam DC voltage diffuse photoelectric sensor, delivering up to 380 mm of sensing range with an infrared LED, housed in a thermoplastic rectangular body with an 18 mm barrel and M18 mounting. Powered by 10–30 V DC, it provides discrete 4‑pin outputs (bipolar NPN/PNP) and supports light/dark operate in diffuse mode for reliable object detection at close range in harsh environments (IP67, NEMA 4X). The unit uses a 2 m cable, and its parameters include a 1 ms output response time, a 100 ms power-up delay, and 300 µs repeatability, making it suitable for fast conveyor, packaging, or automation applications. Operating temperature ranges from -20 to 70 C with humidity up to 90% at 50 C, and the lens is acrylic with potentiometer adjustment for tuning; the device is encapsulated and features LED indicators.
