Baumer OADM 12I6460/S35A is a compact optical laser distance sensor that measures from 16 to 120 mm with a beam diameter of 0.9 to 0.5 mm, delivering precise non-contact distance readings for automation tasks. It uses a pulsed red laser diode at 650 nm (laser class 2) and provides a 2–120 µm resolution with a linearity error of 0.015–0.35 mm, depending on range. The sensor outputs an analog 4–20 mA signal and operates from a 12–28 V DC supply, drawing up to about 100 mA no-load, with protections for short circuits and reverse polarity. Its rectangular housing measures 12.4 mm in width, 37 mm in height, and 34.5 mm in depth, crafted from die-cast zinc with a glass front and an M8 4‑pin connector for rugged industrial use; it also features a <0.9 ms response time and IP67 protection, along with ambient light immunity up to 30 kLux and an operating temperature range of 0 to +50 °C.
