Baumer Electric 12P1701-S14L Proximity Switch

Baumer IFRM 12P1701/S14L is a compact, flush-mount inductive proximity switch with a 4 mm nominal sensing distance for non-contact detection of metal targets in automation systems. It delivers a PNP make function (normally open) output through an M12 connector and operates from a 6–36 VDC supply; the housing is brass nickel plated with a PBT sensing face, providing a rugged, corrosion-resistant enclosure; at 12 mm diameter by 50 mm length it is compact enough for tight spaces, and its IP67 rating protects against dust and water ingress. The sensor operates from -25 to +75 C, with a switching frequency under 2 kHz, a voltage drop under 2 VDC, and an output current capability of up to 200 mA; it includes short-circuit and reverse polarity protection and an LED indicator to show when the output is active. Hysteresis is 3–20% of Sn to provide stable, repeatable detection, and installation torque should not exceed 15 Nm total (front 10 Nm).
