Baumer GI355.070G308 is an optical incremental rotary encoder in Baumer’s GI355 family, designed to provide precise position feedback for automation and motion-control tasks. The 58 mm housing accepts shaft diameters of Ø10 mm or Ø6 mm and supports a maximum resolution of up to 6000 ppr, with A and B channels in quadrature and a zero pulse (Index) for reference, using RS422-compatible push-pull outputs. It operates from 5 VDC ±10% or 4.75–30 VDC, and delivers an output frequency up to 150 kHz; sealing options give IP54 without a shaft seal and IP65 with a shaft seal, enabling use in less-than-pure environments. Maximum shaft speed is 10,000 rpm; starting torque is ≤0.015 Nm (IP54) or ≤0.03 Nm (IP65); rotor inertia around 14.5 g·cm²; and admissible shaft loads are ≤20 N axial and ≤40 N radial. Constructed with an aluminum housing and flange, this encoder suits CNC machines, robotics, packaging lines, and other automation systems requiring compact form factor and robust electrical interfaces.
