Beckhoff EK1101 EtherCAT Bus Coupler with ID switch is the bridge between an EtherCAT master and EtherCAT Terminals, forming the first station device in a Beckhoff EtherCAT system. It features 2 x RJ45 E-bus interfaces, supports 100 Mbit/s data transfer, is powered by 24 V DC (−15%/+20%), draws about 70 mA from the supply plus a portion of the E-bus current, and can provide up to 2000 mA on the E-bus for connected Terminals; it supports up to 4096 configurable IDs and carries CE, UL, ATEX, and IECEx approvals. In a typical Beckhoff EtherCAT station, the EK1101 sits between the master and any number of EtherCAT Terminals behind it, with a bus end terminal completing the chain.
