Beckhoff Automation EK1110 EtherCAT Extension Module

The Beckhoff EK1110 EtherCAT extension module is an end-of-line, one-port device that extends an EtherCAT network in line topology by converting E-bus signals to 100BASE-TX Ethernet for downstream communication. Placed at the end of an EtherCAT terminal string or a CX-series Embedded PC, it provides a single RJ45 socket to connect to the next EtherCAT segment or to individual EtherCAT devices, with connection lengths supported up to 100 meters. Power for the EK1110 electronics is supplied via the E-bus, and no parameterization or configuration is required for basic operation. The EK1110 family includes EK1110-0008, and related variants EK1110-0043 and EK1110-0044, which enable CX or EL modules to interface with EJ modules on a PCB. This extension point supports line-topology expansion within Beckhoff EtherCAT systems, enabling scalable network growth while preserving a simple topology.
