Beckhoff’s EK1110 EtherCAT Extension is a line-topology end-cap device that sits at the end of an EtherCAT Terminal segment or a CX-series Embedded PC to extend the EtherCAT network. It provides a single RJ45 connector to link to the next EtherCAT segment or device, with extension distances up to 100 meters. Power for the EK1110 electronics is supplied via the E-bus; no parameterization or configuration is required. Its core function within the EtherCAT system is to convert E-bus signals to 100BASE-TX Ethernet, enabling seamless extension of the network to additional EtherCAT segments or devices.
