Beckhoff Automation EL3144 Digital Input Terminal

Beckhoff EL3144 EtherCAT Terminal is a 4-channel analog input module that converts 0–20 mA current signals from sensors into 16‑bit digital values for real‑time processing on an EtherCAT network. The four isolated inputs operate as single‑ended channels, providing galvanic isolation from the control side to protect the host controller and improve noise immunity. Each channel has a typical input impedance of 85 Ω and a per‑channel current rating of 40 mA, with dedicated signal grounds shown in the wiring diagram. The device samples each current input with 16‑bit resolution and transmits the result over EtherCAT, enabling precise measurement of 4–20 mA process transmitters commonly used in automation—such as flow, pressure, level, and temperature sensors.
