Beckhoff Automation EL5152 Encoder Terminal 1-Channel Differential Input

Beckhoff EL5152 EtherCAT Terminal is a 2-channel incremental encoder interface designed for Beckhoff EtherCAT systems. It accepts differential HTL encoder signals on two channels (A/B per channel) and provides two 32‑bit counters with a quadrature decoder, enabling high‑resolution position tracking that can be read, set, or activated from the master. With a maximum encoder frequency of 100 kHz, it supports fast rotary encoders for motion control, CNC, robotics, and automated assembly tasks, while the terminal powers encoder circuits from the EtherCAT bus and provides +24 V DC to external encoders via its internal connections. It is part of Beckhoff's EL5xxx position‑measurement family and is intended to mount as an EtherCAT Terminal in a compatible Beckhoff bus coupler or PLC.
