Beckhoff Automation EL6001 EtherCAT I/O Terminal Module

Beckhoff EL6001 EtherCAT Terminal is a one-channel RS232 serial communication interface that connects a serial device to an EtherCAT network. It mounts on a 35 mm DIN rail (EN 60715) and occupies roughly 15 mm in width, 100 mm in height, and 70 mm in depth, with a width-aligned footprint of 12 mm. The device connected to the EL6001 communicates with the automation system via the EtherCAT coupler, enabling serial data exchange over the EtherCAT bus. The EL6001 belongs to Beckhoff's EL600x/EL602x family of serial interface terminals and carries approvals including CE, cULus, UKCA, EAC, ATEX, IECEx, and DNV. It provides IP20 protection and is designed for installation in control cabinets using standard DIN rails. In operation, the module serves as the serial interface path for devices on the factory floor, translating RS232 signals to EtherCAT-compatible process data via the connected coupler.
