Beckhoff EP6228-3132 EtherCAT Box Module is an eight‑port IO-Link master with integrated digital input capability, designed to connect IO-Link devices and four discrete digital signals to an EtherCAT network. The module provides eight IO-Link ports in two port classes: four Class A master ports for IO-Link devices and four Class B ports that supply additional power to IO-Link devices with higher current demand. In addition, the EP6228-3132 includes four digital input channels on the Class A master side, enabling direct digital sensing alongside the IO-Link device network. Packed in Beckhoff’s industrial housing and using M12 connectors, the unit is parameterized by the EtherCAT master, with IO-Link handling bidirectional parameter data exchange between sensors/actuators and the controller. This configuration enables automation systems to deploy up to eight IO-Link devices—such as IO-Link boxes, actuators, or sensors—while simultaneously monitoring four digital inputs, all through a compact, single‑box interface.
