Beckhoff BX8000-0000 Bus Terminal Controller is a stand-alone PLC that comprises the BX8000 controller with support for up to 64 bus terminals and a bus end terminal; with Beckhoff’s terminal bus extension system, the network can grow to up to 255 bus terminals. It features two integrated serial interfaces, with COM1 for programming and a second port that can be RS232 or RS485 for connecting serial devices or displays, and it operates without a built-in fieldbus interface. The unit includes an illuminated two-line, 16-character LCD, a joystick switch, and a real-time clock on the front panel for on-device status at a glance. Positioned between BC bus terminal controllers and CX embedded PCs, the BX8000 offers a PLC runtime with a cycle time of about 1 ms for 1,000 instructions (excluding I/O cycle, K-Bus).
