Beckhoff Automation KL3172 Analog Input Module

Beckhoff KL3172 is a two-channel, differential analog input terminal for the KL3xxx bus family, designed to read 0 to 2 V signals with 16-bit resolution per channel. In the process image, it provides two 16-bit input data words (DataIN1 and DataIN2) plus optional 2×8-bit control/status data, with a maximum footprint of 6 bytes of input data and 6 bytes of output data in process data mode. This combination of differential inputs, dual channels, and 16-bit ADC makes KL3172 well suited to precise sensing of low-voltage signals in Beckhoff EtherCAT or other KL3xxx configurations, enabling reliable data transfer to the host controller for TwinCAT software integration and real-time control. Common applications include simultaneous monitoring of two low-voltage sensors in automation and test setups where compact, plug-in I/O is desired and high resolution is required for accurate measurement of small differential voltages.
