Beckhoff Automation KS1408 Digital Input Terminal

The Beckhoff KS1408 is an 8-channel digital input terminal for 24 V DC signals in Beckhoff’s KS/KL bus-terminal family, designed to collect field-level inputs from sensors and switches and transmit their states to a PLC or PC-based controller via the K-bus. It provides eight isolated digital inputs with a 1-wire wiring connection and pluggable wiring level, and requires no separate addressing or configuration—the process image width is 8 bits. The module measures 15 mm wide by 100 mm high by 70 mm deep and weighs about 55 g. Electrical isolation between field side and K-bus is 500 V, enhancing protection against voltage transients. It draws typically 5 mA from the K-bus, with power contacts consuming about 2 mA plus the connected load. Operated from a 24 V DC supply, KS1408 offers a fast 3 ms response time and the convenience of a single-terminal wiring interface for eight inputs.
