Beckhoff BK-3110 Profibus-DP Interface Module

The Beckhoff BK3110 Profibus-DP Bus Coupler is an economy-grade interface that links Beckhoff Bus Terminals to a PROFIBUS DP network as a DP slave. It is powered from 24 V DC and supports up to 64 bus terminals, enabling Beckhoff I/O modules to be addressed over a PROFIBUS fieldbus at speeds up to 12 Mbaud. The BK3110 uses a D-Sub connector for the PROFIBUS DP interface and belongs to Beckhoff's BK3xx0 Bus Coupler family. In operation, the DP master writes outputs to the BK3110 and reads inputs from it in the response telegram, i.e., process data is exchanged in a DP Data_Exchange telegram with the BK3110 as the slave. This device sits between the PROFIBUS DP network and the Beckhoff Bus Terminal system, preserving Beckhoff’s modular I/O topology while exposing it to a PROFIBUS master.
