Beckhoff BK9000 Industrial PC Controller Module
Beckhoff BK9000 Industrial PC Controller Module
Description:
Beckhoff BK9000 is an Ethernet TCP/IP bus coupler that bridges a PC-based controller running TwinCAT with Beckhoff BK series bus terminals, enabling real-time I/O access over standard Ethernet. As part of Beckhoff's PC-based control architecture, the BK9000 exposes a real-time Ethernet interface to TwinCAT, supports ADS and Modbus TCP protocols, and can operate as a real-time I/O device within TwinCAT System Manager. Configuration is performed from the PC side using TwinCAT software (or KS2000 in older setups), and the BK9000 can be addressed as a virtual Ethernet interface or as an Ethernet Miniport Real-Time I/O device for seamless integration with a PC or industrial PC. Direct PC connections are supported via Ethernet when used with an appropriate crossover link, facilitating straightforward commissioning and diagnostics. The BK9000 is designed to work alongside Beckhoff BK family components and is commonly used to couple PLC logic running on a PC to the BK9000 or other BK-series I/O modules, enabling broad compatibility within Beckhoff automation projects. It supports TwinCAT ADS for data exchange, Modbus TCP for interoperability with non-Beckhoff devices, and Beckhoff real-time Ethernet for deterministic I/O communication, making it suitable for applications ranging from packaging lines to machine automation where PC-based control is desired.
