Beckhoff EL2004 Digital Output Module 24 V DC

Beckhoff EL2004 is a four-channel EtherCAT digital output terminal that provides isolated 24 V DC switching for actuators and indicators. Each channel is a transistor-style output rated for up to 0.5 A, with a nominal 24 V DC output voltage (tolerance -15% / +20%), enabling direct control of common 24 V devices such as relays, solenoids, contactors, and indicator lamps. The module conveys binary control signals from the PLC/automation device to the process level while maintaining electrical isolation between the EtherCAT bus and the field side. Per-channel LEDs indicate when Output 1 through Output 4 are active, offering quick visibility in panel installations. The outputs share a common 0 V return via the internal connection to the negative power contact, simplifying wiring for the load side. As part of Beckhoff’s EL20xx digital-output family, the EL2004 integrates into standard EtherCAT installations and requires a separate 24 V DC supply for the connected loads, while the terminal’s electronics communicate over the EtherCAT bus.
