Beckhoff EL2521 is a one-channel pulse-train output terminal for EtherCAT, part of the EL2xxx digital-output family. It provides a galvanically isolated RS-422 pulse-train output with a 50 mA maximum load, enabling precise frequency control for motion devices while remaining isolated from the E-bus. The terminal converts a binary input into a variable-frequency pulse train and supports incremental encoder simulation, useful for testing drives and controllers without a physical encoder. As an EtherCAT terminal, it communicates over the E-bus while delivering the output signal to the field device with galvanic isolation, improving noise immunity in compact automation cabinets.
