Beckhoff EL3312 EtherCAT Terminal Analog Input

Beckhoff EL3312 EtherCAT Terminal provides two-channel analog input for direct thermocouple measurement within a compact EtherCAT I/O module. Designed for direct connection of thermocouples, this EL3xxx analog input terminal features two differential inputs and 16-bit resolution with multiplexed sampling, enabling precise temperature readings across channels. It supports thermocouple types B, C, E, J, K, L, N, R, S, T, and U, with type K as the default setting, allowing a broad temperature range without external signal conditioning. The two-wire connection to the sensor and a maximum recommended thermocouple cable length of 30 meters (longer runs require protective measures and suitable surge protection) keep wiring simple in control cabinets. Data is transmitted via EtherCAT for synchronous throughput, and the conversion time depends on configuration and filter settings. The terminal draws about 200 mA from the E-bus and weighs around 60 g, making it a compact addition to Beckhoff systems. Features such as open-circuit recognition help detect disconnected sensors for safer operation.
