Beckhoff EL6021 Serial Interface Module RS422 RS485

Beckhoff EL6021 is a one-channel serial interface terminal for the EtherCAT I/O system that provides RS422/RS485 connectivity. This differential 2-wire serial interface enables you to connect devices with RS422 or RS485 interfaces to an EtherCAT master, supporting point-to-point or multi-drop configurations as appropriate for your network. As part of Beckhoff's EL600x/EL602x family, the EL6021 mounts in the EtherCAT terminal rail and is powered through the bus; the EL6021-0021 variant denotes the 1-channel RS422/RS485 version. For software integration, TwinCAT can expose the channel to Windows environments via the TwinCAT Virtual Serial COM Driver, enabling standard serial communication in PLC or PC applications. Typical applications include interfacing field devices such as sensors, actuators, and process instruments that communicate over RS422/RS485 with a Beckhoff automation system.
