Description:
Beckhoff EL7041 EtherCAT Terminal is a compact, 1-channel motion interface designed to drive a 2‑phase stepper motor from a 8–48 V DC supply and provide encoder feedback on the EtherCAT bus. With up to 5 A peak current, it can deliver torque around 5 Nm when paired with a suitable mid‑range stepper, making it a cost‑effective solution for mid‑range applications. The electronics are powered by 24 V DC via internal power contacts, while motor power comes from an external 8–48 V DC source, enabling a clean separation of control and motor supplies. The module includes an integrated incremental encoder interface for connecting the motor’s encoder, supporting standard incremental encoders and enabling precise position and speed feedback on the EtherCAT network. As part of Beckhoff’s EL70x1 family, the EL7041 is a 24 mm wide, compact terminal designed for DIN rail mounting, delivering direct motor connection and encoder feedback in a single, space‑saving device. It is well suited for applications such as conveyor indexing, packaging, and other motion tasks that require a lightweight, tightly integrated drive solution with EtherCAT communication and straightforward wiring.
