Beckhoff EP1008-0001 is an EtherCAT Box module that provides eight digital inputs for 24 V DC signals, routed through eight M8 connectors and read by the controller over EtherCAT. The inputs are galvanically isolated from the EtherCAT bus to protect the control system from transients, and an input filter of 3.0 ms helps debouncing for both electronic and mechanical sensors.
