Beckhoff KL1408 Digital Input Terminal Module

The Beckhoff KL1408 Bus Terminal is an eight-channel digital input module for 24 V DC signals that transmits binary process signals to the host controller with galvanic isolation, using Beckhoff’s 1-wire connection technology. It is specified as EN 61131-2, type 1/3, with eight inputs that accept a logical “0” in the -3 to +5 V range and a logical “1” in the 11 to 30 V range, drawing typ. 3 mA per channel and about 5 mA on the K-Bus for power. A 3 ms input filter suppresses bounce from mechanical switches, and per-channel LEDs display the current state for easy status monitoring. The module operates from a nominal 24 V DC supply (-15% to +20%) and is designed to integrate compactly into Beckhoff EtherCAT systems for sensor and switch inputs in industrial automation.
