Beckhoff KL2408 C01 8 Channel Digital Input Module

Beckhoff KL2408 is an eight-channel digital output terminal for 24 V DC actuation in Beckhoff's KL2xxx bus-terminal family. Each of the eight outputs is rated up to 0.5 A and features per-channel short-circuit protection, making it suitable for driving relays, contactors, or other 24 V devices from a PLC. The module uses a one-wire field connection and is powered via the K-Bus, with a typical K-Bus current draw around 18 mA, and it provides 500 V isolation between the K-Bus and field voltage. No addressing or separate configuration is required; all eight outputs map directly into the module's process image. Designed for 35 mm DIN-rail mounting (EN 60715), it fits in a compact footprint of about 15 mm (W) × 100 mm (H) × 70 mm (D) and weighs roughly 70 g. The KL2408 is the positive-switching variant of the family, with the complementary KL2488 offering the negative-switching option for the same 8-channel count. Typical applications include centralized control of actuators in packaging lines, machine tools, and conveyors where reliable, compact 24 V DC output directly from Beckhoff fieldbuses is advantageous.
