Beckhoff KL4012 Programmable Logic Controller Module

Beckhoff KL4012 is a two-channel analog output terminal for the K-Bus, delivering two independent 0–20 mA current outputs with 12‑bit resolution for precise, real-time signal control in Beckhoff TwinCAT automation systems. As part of the KL4xxx family, it provides single-ended current outputs on each channel and requires no dedicated addressing setup; power is supplied from the K-Bus, with no separate power contacts needed. The module offers galvanic isolation of up to 500 V between the K-Bus and the output signals, enhancing protection for control logic in field environments. Its compact form factor measures approximately 15 mm wide (12 mm DIN-rail alignment) by 100 mm high and 70 mm deep, and it mounts on a 35 mm DIN rail (EN 60715). Operating temperature ranges from -25 °C to +60 °C (extended range), with storage capability from -40 °C to +85 °C, and it carries IP20 protection for basic ambient conditions. The KL4012 exposes data on the K-Bus as 2 × 16-bit outputs (2 × 8-bit control/status possible) and adheres to Beckhoff approvals including CE, UKCA, cULus, EAC, GL, and ATEX as marked on the type plate. No user-configurable addresses are required, and the device integrates with Beckhoff I/O and control ecosystems to produce stable, current-output signals for actuators, valves, and other analog load devices.
