Beckhoff KS1408 Eight Channel Digital Input Module

Beckhoff KS1408 is an eight-channel digital input terminal for 24 V DC that plugs into Beckhoff’s KS/KL bus I/O system. Each of its eight inputs is read as a separate digital channel in the process image, with per-channel LEDs on the terminal indicating the input state directly at the wiring level. The device uses a 1-wire field connection and requires no separate addressing or configuration; it is addressed by its slot on the bus. It draws typically 5 mA from the K-bus and about 2 mA from the power contacts, making it a compact, low-power addition to an EtherCAT/Beckhoff I/O network. Dimensions are 15 mm (W) × 100 mm (H) × 70 mm (D) and it weighs roughly 55 g. The KS1408 provides electrical isolation up to 500 V between K-bus and field voltage and is rated IP20. Technical data also note a 3 ms response time and compatibility with IEC 61131-2, type 3 filtering (3.0 ms).
