Bently Nevada 3500-20RIM Rack Interface Module

The Bently Nevada 3500/20 Rack Interface Module (RIM) is the primary interface to a 3500 vibration-monitoring rack, using a Bently Nevada proprietary protocol to configure the rack and retrieve machinery information. It must be installed in slot 1 of the rack, adjacent to the power supplies, and it provides the connections needed to support Bently Nevada external communications processors such as TDIX, TDXnet, and DDIX. Although the RIM handles common functions across the rack, it is not part of the critical monitoring path and its operation does not affect the proper, normal operation of the monitoring system; one RIM is required per rack. For Triple Modular Redundancy (TMR) configurations, a RIM variant adds monitor-channel comparison and voting across three redundant monitors, flagging an error and recording an event if one monitor deviates beyond the configured tolerance.
