Description:
The BAM-ST AXIS-2 Stepper Drive from Berkeley Process Control is a two-axis stepper motor interface that plugs into a Bam Series machine controller to drive two axes of stepper motors. Housed in a compact metal enclosure, the module uses three connectors: S1 and S2 provide the stepper drive signals for each axis, while S3 connects the Bam-ST to the Bam Series-32 controller, simplifying wiring in multi-axis systems. The Bam controller provides a ±10 Vdc control signal that the Bam-ST interprets and converts into precise step and direction pulses for both axes. It supports running the attached axes in either open- or closed-loop configurations and accommodates full-, half-, and micro-stepping, offering flexible speed/torque profiles. For reliable operation in enclosed cabinets, proper cooling and air flow are recommended, and a mounting template is provided to ensure correct clearance and mounting hole alignment.
