Bernecker & Rainer MDE163-2 Digital Input Module

Bernecker & Rainer MDE163-2 is a 16-channel digital input module for BR’s MULTI/MIDI/M264 rack systems. It provides 16 opto‑isolated 24 VDC inputs, delivering galvanic isolation between field wiring and the PLC logic, with state changes reported to the CPU. Each input channel includes a status LED for quick diagnostics, and the variant is specified for a 0 ms response time, enabling immediate transfer of input states to the controller. This module is used to capture industrial 24 VDC signals such as pushbuttons, limit switches, and sensor outputs in modular BR automation installations, supporting compact, isolated digital input interfacing within BR’s scalable automation architecture.
