BWU1187 ASi/AS-i Coupler is an IP20 DIN-rail mounted module that links two AS-i networks through two internal 4I/4O nodes, enabling data exchange between networks while providing galvanic isolation between them. The device measures 22.5 mm in width and occupies a compact footprint of 99 mm by 92 mm, designed for safe enclosure within control cabinets. It operates from a 30 V nominal supply with an allowable range of 18–31.6 V and draws less than 80 mA per AS-i module, ensuring efficient power usage in multi-network installations. Each internal AS-i module includes four I/O points and features six LEDs (four for outputs, one power, one fault) plus an address socket for configuration; data from one module’s outputs can be mapped to the other module’s inputs to facilitate cross-network signaling. The BWU1187 complies with AS-Interface standards EN 61000-6-1 and EN 61000-6-3, and is specified for 0 °C to +55 °C operation (−25 °C to +85 °C storage) with a pollution degree of 2 and an insulation voltage of ≥500 V between networks, making it suitable for robust use in industrial environments where two AS-i networks must share status or process data without direct electrical coupling.
