Bihl+Wiedemann BWU1488 AS-Interface Scanner Module

BWU1488 is a two-network ASi-3 Master/Scanner module that bridges AS-Interface networks to Allen-Bradley ControlLogix controllers, enabling a single gateway to manage two independent AS-i networks and coordinate device communications from a Rockwell Automation PLC. It provides two AS-i master interfaces to connect two AS-i networks, supports AS-i 3.0 communications, and includes an RS-232 diagnostic/configuration port for commissioning and troubleshooting, making it straightforward to configure, monitor, and diagnose AS-i devices from a PC or terminal. Designed specifically for ControlLogix environments, the BWU1488 lets a ControlLogix processor read inputs and drive outputs on AS-i slaves—sensors and actuators—through the two networks, with AS-i slave capacity up to 62 devices per network, and it serves as a reliable gateway between the AS-i field devices and the PLC.
