Bihl+Wiedemann BWU2045 AS-I Safety Relay Output Module

BWU2045 AS-i Safety Output Module from Bihl+Wiedemann is a compact AS-i safety I/O device in an IP20 housing measuring 22.5 mm wide by 114 mm long. It provides 1 safe relay output (SRO) and 1 EDM input, enabling both a safety output and a diagnostic/enable input in a single module. The unit features 4 x 4 contacts and uses Push-in terminals for both AS-i bus connections and periphery wiring. Sensor power and signal are supplied out of the AS-i bus, while actuator supply is provided through the AS-i connection to drive the safety relay. Cable lengths are specified as a maximum of 15 m for input connector cables, with outputs having unlimited length. Addressing is via AS-i with 1 single address plus 1 AB address, supporting flexible configuration in mixed AS-i networks. Safety inputs can be configured as 1-channel or 2-channel depending on the desired application, and the module is positioned for safety applications that require a compact two-function module in industrial environments, including suitability for high-safety levels up to Category 4/PLe/SIL 3.
