Bihl+Wiedemann GmbH BWU4042 ASi-5 Counter Module

The BWU4042 ASi-5 Counter Module from Bihl+Wiedemann is an IP67-rated ASi-5 slave designed for harsh industrial environments; it provides four counter inputs accessible via four M12 sockets and can transmit four independent counter values to an ASi-5 master in as little as 1.27 ms. Each input is configured as a 2-channel pair (C1A/C1B, C2A/C2B, C3A/C3B, C4A/C4B), with 32-bit signed count values from -2,147,483,647 to 2,147,483,647 and a maximum counting rate of 250 kHz; the module also supports frequency and period measurements, with optional filtering. Periphery connections are four 5-pin M12 sockets; the module powers sensors from the ASi bus, uses profile cable and piercing technology for ASi-5 communication, and addresses via an ADDR plug providing a single ASi-5 address.
