Black Box SW1040A CAT6 A/B Switch - Latching RJ45 Remote Control, Dry Contact is a dual-path, RJ45-based switch that lets you route signals between two network paths (A or B) with both local and remote control options. A six-position terminal block at the rear accepts external dry contact closures, while the front panel provides a push-button interface for immediate, manual A/B switching. The switch ports are transparent and can handle speeds up to 10 Gbps, making it suitable for high‑bandwidth Ethernet links without introducing active circuitry in the signal path. It maintains the selected connection if power is lost, ensuring continuity during outages. Remote control is achieved by shorting the appropriate dry contact to ground: connect A (pin 1 to ground on pin 2) for about 100 ms to switch to A, or connect B (pin 3 to ground on pin 2) for about 100 ms to switch to B.
