The Bodine LP600 Emergency Lighting Ballast is a low-profile fluorescent emergency ballast with an integrated Ni‑Cd battery that converts a standard fixture into a compliant emergency luminaire. Encased in a galvanized steel housing measuring 21.5 inches long by 1.18 inches wide by 1.18 inches high and weighing about 3.3 pounds, it accepts 120/277 V input at 60 Hz and delivers emergency illumination for at least 90 minutes when normal power fails, with initial output ranging from 600 to 1325 lumens depending on the lamp installed. It supports a variety of common fluorescent configurations in ballast-channel installations, powers a single lamp in emergency mode, and contains an 18.5 watt-hour rechargeable battery that recharges after an outage. The LP600 is UL Listed for factory or field installation and CSA certified for indoor use in fixtures (not suitable for damp, wet, or hazardous locations), and a charging indicator light shows when the battery is being charged while AC power is present.
