Boston Gear 724-30-G Gear Reducer
Boston Gear 724-30-G Gear Reducer
Description:
Boston Gear 724-30-G is a 700 Series right-angle worm-gear speed reducer configured for single reduction with a 30:1 gear ratio and a compact, cast-iron housing. Designed for no-base mounting with a solid projecting output shaft, it accepts input speeds up to 1,750 rpm and delivers an output of about 58.3 rpm, making it ideal where space is limited but torque must be increased. The unit is rated for up to 1 hp input power and can develop roughly 1,200 in-lb of output torque under typical load conditions, with a center distance of 2.38 inches and shafts sized at 0.7495 inches on the input and 1-1/8 inches on the output. Built to military-spec paint standards and featuring an oil sight-glass for maintenance checks, the reducer uses Klubersynth UH1 6-460 lubrication and a rugged cast-iron, gray-painted housing that withstands industrial environments. Dimensions are approximately 8.94 inches long, 7.81 inches wide, and 6.94 inches high, enabling straightforward integration into existing drive trains where a right-angle worm drive is advantageous. The 724-30-G is part of Boston Gear’s long-standing 700 Series, known for modular construction, robust bronze worm gears, and precise alignment between input and output shafts, all without a base mount to simplify installation in compact machinery.
